When someone asks AI for a plumber / HVAC / pressure washer
In your city — which AI answers, and do you show up in all of them? Half of all searches now end in an AI answer — and the AIs disagree. On the same real business we measured, ChatGPT cited it 75% of the time, Gemini 62%, Perplexity just 12%. One number lies. We measure all three (English and Spanish), so you see where you're actually invisible — and exactly how to fix it.
47-point spread. This is why a single-engine score misleads → strong in one, invisible in another.

Why one AI score is a lie.
AI engines share only ~11–12% of the sources they cite — a strong score on one is no guarantee on the others. On our sample, Perplexity NAMED the business 62% of the time but CITED it only 12%; ChatGPT cited it 75%. If you only check ChatGPT, you think you've won. If you only check Perplexity, you think you've lost. Both are wrong.
You might be strong in one engine — and invisible in the next.
This is one representative business profile. Yours could be inverted. You'd never know without measuring all three.

What you find out
Are you cited — in each engine?
Across real buyer questions for your service + city, run against all three AI engines, we check whether each one cites you — or sends the customer to someone else.
Your share of voice vs. named competitors.
A side-by-side table: how often each competitor appears in the AI answer. On our sample the business held 88% share of voice — the slide that opens eyes.
Which sources the AI trusts.
The exact websites — Thumbtack, HomeAdvisor, Yelp, directories, review sites — the AI pulls from. The rooms you need to be in to get cited.
A prioritized 90-day fix plan.
Grounded in what actually moves AI citations: brand mentions correlate ~3× more with AI citations than backlinks. Genuine content + mentions + schema — not snake-oil “llms.txt” tricks Google ignores.

Visible in English, with a real gap in Spanish — the “pressure washing de emergencia” query returned the business 0 of 3 times. The bilingual gap is real, and almost no one audits it.
A range, not a screenshot. Three engines, English and Spanish.
Why we report a range, not a screenshot.
AI answers are stochastic — the same question can cite you one run and not the next. We run every query multiple times per engine and report a citation RATE with a 95% Wilson confidence interval. A one-shot screenshot is noise; a measured rate with a range is evidence. The score weights being a cited SOURCE (0.7) over being merely named (0.3), because being the source is the harder, higher-value signal.
We measure 3 engines today (Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity). Google AI Overviews is on our roadmap, and we will never claim an engine we don't measure. The audit is deterministic; the fix is best-practice implementation, not a magic citation guarantee — and we'll tell you when you're already doing fine.
The Spanish edge nobody else checks
es-US AI search returns a different answer set, and almost no agency audits it. On our sample, the Spanish emergency query returned the business 0 of 3 times. If you serve a Latino market, you may be invisible in half your city's searches. We audit both languages.

The plain-English guide
AEO / AI-visibility audit: a plain-English guide
Short, self-contained answers to what an AI-visibility audit is, how AI search decides who to cite, and how to check whether your business shows up in ChatGPT. Written to be useful on its own — quote any block.
What is an AEO / AI-visibility audit?
An AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) or AI-visibility audit measures whether your business gets named and cited when customers ask an AI assistant for a provider — and tells you why or why not. SwiftRep runs real buyer-intent questions for your service and city across three AI engines — ChatGPT (web search), Google's Gemini (Google-Search grounded), and Perplexity (Sonar) — running each query multiple times and reporting a citation rate with a 95% confidence interval, not a one-off screenshot. Google AI Overviews is on our roadmap and is never claimed as measured. "AEO" and "GEO" (Generative Engine Optimization) name the same goal: being the source the AI cites. The audit is bilingual — English and Spanish (es-US) — which almost no one else checks.
How does AI search decide who to cite?
AI search engines cite sources they can find, parse, and trust — and brand mentions matter more than backlinks. Independent research finds brand mentions across the web correlate roughly 3× more strongly with AI citations than traditional backlinks do. The strongest signals, in order: clear content that answers the question directly (Who / How / Why, in self-contained passages), being present in the third-party sources the AI already trusts for your category (directories, review sites, forums), valid structured data (Schema.org JSON-LD), and a page the crawler can actually read — server-side-rendered HTML, not JavaScript-only. There is no shortcut: "llms.txt" files and mention-farming do not work, and Google has publicly said it does not use llms.txt.
Why measure multiple AI engines, not just one?
Because the engines disagree, and a single-engine score will tell you you've won when you've lost. Studies of AI search overlap find the major engines share only about 11–12% of the sources they cite for the same query — so being cited by ChatGPT is no guarantee you're cited by Perplexity or Gemini. In a representative sample, the citation rate ranged from 75% on ChatGPT down to 12% on Perplexity — a 63-point spread on the citation-rate scale, on the same business. Checking one engine is like checking one search result and calling it your ranking. SwiftRep measures three engines so you see where you are actually invisible.
Am I in ChatGPT? How to check if your business shows up in AI search
To check whether your business shows up in AI search, ask the AI the question a real customer would — for example, "best [your service] in [your city]" or "who should I call for [problem] near me" — in ChatGPT (with web search on), Gemini, and Perplexity, and see whether your business is named and cited with a link. Because AI answers vary run to run, ask each question several times rather than trusting a single response, and repeat it in Spanish if you serve a Spanish-speaking market. If your name never appears, you're invisible in that engine. SwiftRep does this for you across three engines with multiple runs and reports a measured citation rate with a confidence interval — done-for-you, $500, you keep the report.
We eat our own dog food
We run this audit on ourselves — every month.
The fastest way to trust an AI-visibility audit is to ask whether the people selling it are visible themselves. So we measure swiftrep.io against the exact queries on this page — "AEO audit," "AI-visibility audit," "GEO audit," "am I in ChatGPT" — across the same three engines, monthly, using the same deterministic method we'd use on you. We publish our own blended number and track it over time, including when it's low. We use only the honest levers we'd recommend to you — content quality, schema, and genuine presence in trusted sources — never llms.txt tricks or mention-farming. GEO compounds slowly, so a first AI citation typically takes weeks, not days; we'd rather show you the real climb than invent a number.
FAQ
What is an AEO / AI visibility audit?
It measures whether your business appears when customers ask AI search for a provider in your area, and shows you why or why not. We measure live across three engines — Gemini (Google-Search grounded), ChatGPT (web search), and Perplexity (Sonar) — running each query multiple times and reporting a citation rate with a 95% confidence interval. Google AI Overviews is on our roadmap and plugs into the same harness as it ships.
Why measure more than one AI engine?
Because they disagree. In a representative sample, the spread between engines was 63 points on the citation-rate scale — ChatGPT cited the business 75% of the time, Perplexity just 12%. The engines also share only ~11–12% of the sources they cite, so a strong score on one is no guarantee on the others. A single-engine number can tell you you've won when you've lost.
How is this different from regular SEO?
Regular SEO ranks you in the blue links. AI answers often cite a different set of sources than the top links, and the AI engines themselves overlap on only ~11–12% of the sources they cite. Being #1 on Google no longer means you're in the AI answer — and being in ChatGPT's answer doesn't mean you're in Perplexity's.
How long does an AI visibility audit take?
Most audits are delivered within a few business days, not weeks. The turnaround is predictable because the work is bounded and deterministic: we assemble real buyer-intent queries for your service and city, run each one multiple times across three live AI engines — ChatGPT (web search), Gemini (Google-Search grounded), and Perplexity (Sonar) — and score how often you're cited as a rate with a 95% confidence interval. We then compile your share of voice versus named competitors, the sources the AI trusts, and a prioritized 90-day fix plan. Adding the Spanish (es-US) audit runs the same queries again in Spanish and can add a day. You keep the report either way.
Do you audit Spanish-language AI results?
Yes — bilingual English and Spanish (es-US) auditing is included, and it's something almost no one else does. On our sample, English scored a 100% cite-rate while one Spanish emergency query returned the business 0 of 3 times — a real gap nobody audits.
What does an AI visibility audit cost?
The audit is a flat $500, and you keep the full report whether or not you hire us for the fix. That covers real buyer-intent queries run multiple times across three live engines — ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity — reported as a blended citation rate with a 95% confidence interval, a per-engine breakdown, your share of voice versus named competitors, the sources the AI trusts, and a prioritized 90-day plan, in English and Spanish. The audit is deterministic, so it always ships a real measurement. If you want us to implement the plan, the Fix Pack is $1,500–2,500 and monthly Monitoring is $400–800 — but the fix is best-practice work, not a guaranteed citation.
